Bexley , Worthington middle schools win state recognition

Two local middle schools have been named "Ohio Schools to Watch" for the 2005-06 school year.

Bexley Middle School and Kilbourne Middle School in Worthington applied for and were granted the designation by the Ohio Department of Education, which announced 10 awardees last week.

The Schools to Watch program recognizes high-impact public middle schools in Ohio. The department seeks schools that display personalized environments, high-quality classes, social equity and support for teacher training.

Schools can apply now through October to become a middle school to watch for next school year.
