Snider receives strategic leader award from Michigan Society of Association Executives

Livonia, MI -- Van Snider, CAE, President of the Michigan Boating Industries Association (MBIA), received the Michigan Society of Association Executive's (MSAE) "Strategic Association Leader Award" during their annual Diamond Award ceremony on September 15th in Plymouth, Michigan.

Snider, who has served as President of MBIA since August 1990, was recognized for "Outstanding leadership and a commitment beyond expected standards." His strategic leadership of the Michigan marine trade association was recognized by MSAE including his development of the Spring Boating Expo held each March in Novi, Michigan, government relations program and legislative accomplishments, sound financial management of the association, and various positions he has held on boards of directors and committees both within the boating industry as well as the association non-profit industry.

He stated "I have been fortunate to work with outstanding board members and association staff members who have given their utmost to make the associations I have worked for in the past 22 years the best they could be. I share this award with them."

He expressed his sincere appreciation to the MSAE for the recognition he received.

Snider, in addition to a B.B.A. and M.B.A., received his designation as a Certified Association Executive (CAE) from the American Society of Association Executives in 1989, which he has continued to maintain during his tenure at MBIA. The Michigan Society of Association Executives is a state affiliate of the American Society of Association Executives headquartered in Washington, D.C.
