Peter B. Halliday was born in 1937 and lived at 47 N. Parkview Ave., Bexley, Ohio. He graduated from Bexley High School in 1955, and Denison University with a BA in Economics in 1959.

In 1960 Pete went into the investment business with Vercoe & Co., a NYSE member firm, with their main office in Columbus, Ohio. He worked for Advest, Inc., the successor of Vercoe & Co., from 1984-1995. He retired in 1995 and has since been consulting in the venture capital field.

Throughout Pete's career he has had many leadership positions. In high school he was the Vice President of the school and Captain of the football team. In college he was President of his class and of his fraternity, Beta Theta Pi. In his business career he became President and major shareholder of Vercoe & Co, and had grown the firm from 3 offices and 14 sales persons to 12 offices and 60 sales persons at the time it was sold to Advest, Inc., NYSE in 1984.

Over the last 47 years he has served on many boards of corporations and non-profit organizations. The most noted of these are: The Limited, Inc., Vercoe & Co., Advest, Inc., Com III, Inc., Grant Hospital, Conquest Inc., Ohio Presbyterians Homes, Broad Street Presbyterian Church, Friendship Village of Columbus, Rocky Fork Hunt and Country Club, and The Bexley Heritage Fund. He has served as President of 8 of these boards.

He has been a recipient of the Bexley Hall of Fame award, and a Distinguished Alumnus of Denison University where he belonged to three honoraries.

His most recent passion is to help restore the Jeffrey Mansion to its former grandeur, while serving the needs of Bexley as it is now, through the Bexley Heritage Fund that he and his wife founded.

Pete has been married to Janet, his college sweetheart, since 1959 and has three children, all who attended the Bexley schools, and 6 grandchildren, 4 of whom currently attend Bexley schools, 3 in kindergarten! The Hallidays live in Bexley, Ohio and Sanibel, Florida.
