Doris James
Woodward – Davidson NC
Have lived at The
Pines, a beautiful retirement community, for almost nine years. Had
a wonderful 90th party in February, given by my family of 34.
Davidson, a small quiet neighborhood, reminds me of my growing-up
days in Bexley. Would like to hear from someone in the class of
1935.

Mary Ruth Schuh
Stauffer – Downey CA
I enjoyed reading the
Winter 2006 newsletter. It brought back some fond memories. It was
a shock to realize the dwindling numbers and limited activities of
the 1935 class. The same is true here. There is no peer pressure.
I retired from the practice of medicine as an M.D. in 1997. Since
that time I have devoted myself to running the Mary R Stauffer
Foundation that I started in 1992. I started my own foundation with
the thought that I could do a better job in my community than the
government or the National non-profits could. I have started and
funded many programs in Downey. For those interested, consult my
Web site
www.maryrstaufferfoundation.com. I am active in the local
Lutheran church, Assistance League of Downey, Rotary, P.E.O.,
Aerospace Legacy Society, RLC, Rancho Los Amigos Foundation,
Citizens for Downey, Rise and Shine, Downey Chamber of Commerce,
Downey Art Museum, Downey Historical Society, etc. As always, God
first, then family, then job (activities). I have five wonderful
children and seven beautiful granddaughters. I spend with them all
the time they can spare for me. My husband, Floyd Stauffer, is an
outstanding athlete and will be inducted into the Swimming Hall of
Fame this summer at the World Games. I will be there to cheer. I
wish all success and happiness.
