Jim
Emswiler – Bluffton SC
Ever since seeing a letter from my high school girlfriend, Emily
Villars Zander ’41, she and I have been engaged in a very pleasing
correspondence after 68 years of no contact. I had hoped to visit
her in New Mexico but my ill health has prevented it. Emily is a
very busy lady and in good health. My son, Tom, is in a very
important job with the Federal Retirement Investment Board in
Washington. His job carries an equivalency of a Lt. General. His
son, Philip, is working at the U.S. Embassy in London this summer.
My daughter, Cathy, and her family live with and take care of me.
August 30th marked the one-year anniversary of my wonderful wife,
Vicki’s, death.

Jack Connell – Naples FL
I’m living in a retirement rest home called
Bentl3y Village here in Naples and like it very much. My wife and I
play golf 3 or 4 days a week. Would love to hear from my classmates
and Bexley friends.

Jim Emswiler – Bluffton SC
Our son, Tom, who retired from the Army three
years ago, was hired by the Federal Retirement System and this April
was named CEO. In keeping with federal policy, he will have the
rank of general. My wife of 62 years, Vicki, has been suffering
from a brain tumor for several years. In spite of her pain &
weakness she still manages to stay active. I was cured of prostate
cancer by a series of shots. No operation or radiation was
required.

Anne Burgess Kauffman – Granville OH
My husband and I have moved to Kendal at
Granville, a retirement community. We have nine grandchildren and
six great-grandchildren who live on the East Coast. We enjoy them
immensely.

Jack L. Connell – Naples FL
I’m enjoying
life here in sunny Naples. Would like to hear from my classmates
and friends before and after 1938. Think of many of you. Play golf
three days a week and bridge once a week. I very much enjoy reading
about the news in Bexley Alumni Assn. newsletter.
