CLASS OF 1951

Darrell Hutchinson – Oro Valley AZ
I always enjoy
perusing the newsletter, looking for news of classmates of 1951 or
nearby years. We have been escaping the Ohio winters for ten years
and certainly enjoy the Arizona winter climate. We still have our
home in Powell OH. This September, Fran and I will celebrate 52
years of marriage. I do “retired guy” things and play some golf.
Fran keeps busy in her art studio. We have four kids and eight
grandkids. We are both fortunate to have good health. Sometimes we
get together with a few classmates when we are in Powell. We are
overdue for a gathering. If you are in the Tucson area, give us a
call.

Barbara Short
Hogan – Hailey ID
I retired at the age
of 71 – sold the Hailey Hotel for good. I still live in Hailey but
hope to retire south. Too cold! My three kids, Steve, Doug and
Scott are all well. I have six grandsons, Ryan, Patrick, Evan &
Shaun, Jake and Max. They are 15, 15, 13, 12, 10 and 9. Great
kids. I was vice president for two years of the Hailey Chamber of
Commerce and on the board for four years.

Hey, 1951 Bexley grads. Anyone interested in emailing? I’m in touch
(via computer) with Jim Shockey, Dexter Strawther, Darrell

to that list. Email me at

January 2008 |
Lawrence Pepper – Columbus OH
I’m 76 years old now and it makes me sad that so many of my
classmates have died. I’m looking forward to our 60th reunion in
2010. I’m still working and am in fairly good health, for which I’m
thankful. I enjoy visiting my daughter and two grandchildren in
Clarksville TN.

September 2007 |
Alan Weiler – Powell OH
Still in the insurance business. Much too young to retire. We live
on the Scioto River, just north of the zoo. Two children and 5
grandchildren live nearby with one child and grandson in Boston. Vic
Woods ’49 has joined our agency. Although we live in Delaware
County, Bexley is still our hometown.

March 2006 |
|
Joan Dickinson Duemer – Houston TX
I send this on the eve
of driving to Tubac AZ to visit my two sisters, Frances Dickinson
Morrisey ’45 and Ruth Dickinson Koester ’49, and their husbands at
their winter homes. Everyone is fine and enjoying the warmth when
away from Missoula MT and Elmira NY respectively. Walt and I have a
busy May with three grandchildren graduating from college. We will
take August off to drive to the mountains of Colorado, out of the
heat of Texas.

I am so sorry to
report that our dear Bill passed away from lung disease on December
2, 2005. He had been on full-time oxygen since February 2000.
Please keep our families in your prayers.
